A LITTLE ABOUT US...

Working from our studio based in Greenwich, London, we’re bringing home the bacon through innovative ideas, exploration, and execution. Light, fresh and vibrant, we have the perfect environment to get creative and despise aiming for the low hanging fruit; we’re here to think up the greatest thing since sliced bread. We’re based outside the city centre so we don’t sugarcoat our costs and our rates are very competitive (cheap as chips). Our dedicated team cook up a storm and strive to give one-to-one attention, creating a strong working bond and a true understanding of our clients needs. We love where we work, are passionate about what we do, and everything that leaves the studio is sure to pack a punch. Trust us, we’re worth your salt. Check out our work!

FAQ
THE SECRET INGREDIENT

Set up in 1997, the aim of Hatch is to produce imaginative design solutions to the standard you would expect from a top London design agency, but at out-of-town prices. If you’re looking for fresh ideas and a creative approach, you have come to the right place. Here at Hatch we pride ourselves in our ability to cook up imaginative concepts. This coupled with strong design and typographic solutions is what makes us the secret ingredient to any successful marketing campaign.

OUR PROMISE

With 27 years experience we have a proven track record and our specialist team will never let you down. We are upfront with our costs and will quote you within 12 hours upon receipt of a brief sheet. Our team of designers are highly dedicated, enabling us to deliver one to one personal attention to all our clients. Our enthusiasm along with our competence makes us ready to tackle any project no matter how big or small. From rebranding to advertising, brochures to photography we offer affordable, dynamic and most importantly effective design solutions.

HOW WE WORK

A good design can only be as good as the initial brief. That is why, at Hatch, our first aim is to extract as much information from you as possible before the first brainstorming sessions begin. A series of ideas and concepts will be presented and discussed and a chosen direction developed, this will then be refined until the final design is signed-off. You will be kept informed at every stage of the development.

At Hatch we aim to develop an excellent relationship with you. This is done by ensuring your targets, budgets and deadlines are met. From start to finish you will be in direct contact with the designers dealing with your project, who will do whatever possible to ensure your every need is met. Our passion for design and results is obvious in all that we do.

Hatch is small enough to care but big enough to cope.

WORK ETHOS

To ensure the Hatch working environment is positive, creative and productive, we aim to develop a situation where this is possible. There is open and transparent communication between all members of staff as well as a sense of nurturing. As a result we work successfully as a team. Our staff are not only hired on their skills, talents and qualifications but also on their enthusiasm, dynamism, positivity, determination and organisational skills. Continual learning programs keep staff up to date with the latest technology, trends and media, resulting in a thriving team who are always striving to improve.

SUSTAINBILITY

As an environmentally aware company we provide a sustainable working environment for both employees as well as clients. The building in which we reside has a strict policy on recycling and energy use and we are extremely committed to providing an environmentally-sound office space. This encouraged our decision to choose our particular place of work.

Our office follows a daily recycling policy especially concerning paper goods. All unwanted paper is recycled along with other items such as aluminum, plastics and ink cartridges. A well-lit workspace is achieved with fluorescent light bulbs along with plenty of natural light. We also make sure our computers are put into energy-save mode when not in use and that machinery is shutdown out of office hours. Our employees are encouraged to use public transport/cycle whenever possible, and are also encouraged to carry out sustainable practices in their own homes.

We do not print any unnecessary files, we have done away with our fax machine and use emailable PDFs as our method of artwork supply where possible. Our clients have access to sustainable printing too. Our preferred print suppliers exercise environmental and sustainable policies and practices, using vegetable inks, chlorine free paper, as well as Carbon Neutral printing.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Hatch have successfully run an internship program since its inception in 1997. Notable for its comprehensive educational outreach, benefiting students not only within the borough of Greenwich but also internationally. Collaborative engagements have been established with a variety of institutions, including Twiin & Erasmus. With design majors from the universities of Iowa (US), RGU Aberdeen & the Media College Amsterdam (NL) have all benefited from hands-on experience of day-to-day life of our busy London based digital design agency not to mention the mentoring from our senior design leads.

Below are some of the kind words our new friends have relayed back.

"The Central University of Iowa has had a long and fruitful relationship with Hatch Creations Ltd. For many years Hatch has been taking US study abroad students, as interns for 15 week programmes, providing them with invaluable work experience in the field of graphic design. In feedback all students speak highly of their time at Hatch, the breadth of their experience and the skills and professionalism of the team. Long may this mutually beneficial relationship continue."
Mark Simmons – Executive DirectorCentral University of Iowa – London Programme

"It is always a pleasure to meet, teach & share knowledge with all of our interns. If there is a willingness to learn, we are more than happy to accommodate, it’s great to see them flourish in a relatively short space of time. I wish them all the very best in their chosen professions, and look forward to a reunion when I take the family stateside for a vacation ;o)"
James Dexter – Creative Director of Hatch Creations

"Working at Hatch was the experience of a lifetime. I was treated with great respect and given tasks that helped me immensely in my future jobs. My Hatch experience helped me land a great job at a publishing corporation when I returned to the States, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything."
Tara Veeder, Drake University (our very first intern at Hatch)

"Working in such an innovative studio alongside talented designers provided me with valuable design experience and insight into the profession. Not only did I return to the States with excellent portfolio work, but I also feel more prepared to enter into the work force as a young professional. After graduation, I intend to use my creative skills to work in the media industry."
Allison Maze, Drake University – Class of 2010

"Working at Hatch was the dream internship. The team were very committed to providing a positive work environment and to assigning me challenging tasks, which helped enrich my design experience while abroad. Their love of design and dedication to quality are aspects that I strive to maintain in my work today and into the future. My experiences at Hatch helped me expand my creative ability and led me to a wonderful graphic design job at the Iowa City Press-Citizen. I am thrilled to have been part of the Hatch family and could not have asked for a better internship experience."
Rebecca Skalsky, Central University of Iowa – Class of 2009

"Interning at Hatch has been an enriching experience, I was able to improve and expand my design skills as well as get the feel for an accomplished design agency while working in a positive atmosphere. Since interning at Hatch I have continued my studies and will continue onto graduate school in commercial photography. Interning at Hatch was definitely worth the trip to London. (Of course, the city itself is pretty amazing!) Its inviting, friendly work environment is very comforting to a young design student. There is a lot of opportunity for one-on-one contact with talented design professionals. Once I proved to Hatch my abilities in design, I was entrusted to help out with live projects. Overall, my experience as an intern at Hatch allowed me a peek into the real world of design. I felt this was an integral part of my graphic design education and I hope the internship program at Hatch continues for years to come."
Kristi Olberding, Loras College – Iowa – Class of 2009"
